Today, NIA NADURATA is sharing her debut single, “drive faster”, via Arts & Crafts. On the surface, "drive faster" is a break up song. The acoustic-driven ballad accompanied by lush orchestral arrangements is a late night rumination on an emotional car wreck. Unable to see what the future holds through the blinding headlights of heartbreak and perpetually stuck waiting in the passenger seat of life, NIA NADURATA pleads, "If we break the silence, will it make you drive faster."
Just beneath the surface, however, "drive faster" is about being heard: A common theme in NIA NADURATA's music. The Toronto-based 22-year old artist dropped out of the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University to pursue music full time and has spent much of her young adult life trying to find her voice. To assert herself. Whether it's in a relationship, or as the daughter of immigrants with lofty career expectations, NIA NADURATA has had to fight for a say. To be heard, and to finally sit in the driver's seat.
The single was recorded at Kilometre Music Group and produced by harper gordon (Kenny Beats, Vince Staples), TJ Whitelaw (John Legend, JP Saxe), and MIDO (Don Toliver’s RIAA-Platinum single "Cardigan").

MORE ABOUT NIA NADURATA
NIA NADURATA started singing and performing on stage in grade 3 and never stopped. Since graduating from the Etobicoke School of the Arts, NIA has been cultivating her soulful, indie, Pop and R&B sound to make you fall in love with your most vulnerable years. Her music captures a time when the world and our thoughts tortured us or soothed us, creating songs for her future audiences. While working behind the scenes as a songwriter and vocalist alongside artists such as Russ, Nonso Amadi, Isaiah Peck, Amaal, and Boslen, NIA has been preparing her very own debut EP. Set for release in 2023, the EP showcases the depth and maturity of her sound. Highlighting her upbringing and coming of age, the project mirrors the sounds of Amy Winehouse, Aaliyah, Taylor Swift, Carole King, Dijon and Billie Eilish.
NIA's lyrical vulnerability shines as she shares her trials and errors navigating through her late teens and early 20s. She opens up about self growth, finding confidence, strengthening friendships, falling in and out of love and the art of breaking stuff (even if you're breaking your own heart).
