Yoke Lore (aka Adrian Galvin) today releases his latest A/B single “Bravado” / “Body Parts” via Arts & Crafts. “Body Parts”, an ode to the power of instinct, has become a favourite with fans on Adrian’s most recent US headline tour. “Bravado” is about loving someone, flaws and all.
Speaking on the tracks, he said: “‘Body Parts’ is about trusting your gut. Trusting the senses you get from your fingers and your tongue and listening to the little Jiminy Cricket inside of your skull whenever he speaks up. It's hard to trust ourselves in this day and age when so much information is available, when right and wrong is blurred by the sheer availability of multitudinous perspectives and options. This song is a plea to myself to allow myself to be guided by my instincts.
‘Bravado’ is about the agreement you make with someone you love to take care of one another's limitations. We often fall in love with someone's beautiful parts and then their real full self comes into the picture later on, and we have to contend with those not so beautiful parts. This song is about real love being borne through that struggle. Being comfortable with letting someone see your failures and you accepting someone else's.”

New York indie pop project Yoke Lore, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist artist Adrian Galvin, is a unique blend of soulful beats, harmonies and truthful storytelling, resulting in arresting pop music led by Adrian’s hypnotic vocals. He recently released “Everybody Wants To Be Loved” with NVDES, with the track proving a hit and adding to Adrian’s 100 million streams across all platforms. Stepping away from the stripped back sound of his most recent EP Meditations, the single layers Adrian’s idyllic vocals atop an infectious beat to create a fun dancefloor jam. The accompanying video is colourful, captivating and chaotic.
Adrian’s musical biography read Walk the Moon and Yellerkin before he founded his musical moniker Yoke Lore, through which he released a steady stream of EPs (four in four years) and built a reputation as an electric live performer. The inspiration behind the name - a yoke is something that holds things together; lore is a set of stories or collection of ideas about an event, time or culture - is woven throughout Adrian’s work, evident in his exploration of universal experiences through personal storytelling.
After recent sold out shows in Vancouver and Toronto, Yoke Lore will be heading overseas for another run of tour dates in December. Watch for more tour dates to be announced in the near future.
