"’Proud’ is all haze and light touch from a singer-songwriter who is never quite fully in the room but who holds you at rapt attention nonetheless.” – NEW YORK TIMES
“He offers salvation in a distant fiddle, a twanging guitar, and the voice of an old friend.” – PITCHFORK BEST NEW TRACK (“Bobby”)
“The mystical “Witch”…follows in a lineage of hypnotic indie-rock that recalls Deerhunter and Sung Tongs-era Animal Collective.” – ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

(Sandy) Alex G shares two new songs, from the forthcoming Rocket due out May 19 on Domino. “Sportstar”, a brightly shimmering treatise on obsession, with pitched-up vocals and a melancholic piano line, sits as far away sonically from “Brick” - a 2 min screamer of a hardcore song - as might be possible. These two songs – sonic bookends of Rocket – showcase the wide palette that (Sandy) Alex G is working with on Rocket, his eighth album.

Next week (Sandy) Alex G will continue across North America to support Rocket, with stops in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal along the way. Two new dates have been added to the run - a stop the venerable Austin City Limits in October and another night in NYC at Bowery Ballroom. All shows, including the newly-announced UK/EU dates, are below.
Rocket is the Philadelphia-based artist’s eighth full-length release—an assured statement that follows a slate of humble masterpieces, many of them self-recorded and self-released, stretching from 2010’s RACE to his 2015 Domino debut, Beach Music. Rocket’s sessions began shortly after Beach Music’s ended, with Alex tracking songs at home, by himself and with friends, in the gaps between a hectic 2015 and 2016 touring schedule. Rocket was mixed by Jacob Portrait (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bass Drum of Death), who also lent his hand to Beach Music, giving the album a fine-tuning that retains the homespun personality of earlier efforts.
