CALGARY ART POP BAND REVEAL CANADIAN TOUR DATES BEGINNING MAY 5

UPCOMING ALBUM, REMEMBER THE MOON, ON APRIL 29 VIA WYATT RECORDS
Earlier this month, Calgary art pop band Lab Coast released the first single, “Bored Again”, off their upcoming LP, Remember The Moon. Today, courtesy of Noisey and director Sara Hughes, viewers can float along with the track in a dingy swimming pool during the new video for “Bored Again”. “I've always been obsessed with the dim lighting of old, rundown swimming pools and have been looking for the right project to film in one,” say Hughes. “The song compliments this perfectly — it's a fun pop song with a tinge of sadness.”
Set for release on April 29 via Wyatt Records, Lab Coast will support their new record with a run of tour dates which begin at home in Alberta on May 5. Full tour dates can be found below.

On Remember The Moon, the songwriting team of singer David Laing and multi-instrumentalist Chris Dadge (Chad VanGaalen, Bug Incision, Samantha Savage Smith) carve out detailed analog productions, drawing from the wealth of instruments that friends leave at the Lab Coast practice space, and the ever evolving recording techniques that they've been honing since day one.
The Calgary band has been delivering hazy bursts of hook laden guitar pop from their basement studio for nearly a decade now. Throughout their fourth LP, Remember The Moon finds a new punch and clarity, while the production itself has become more ambitious in scope, incorporating effect drenched guitars, rubbery bass parts, cello, violin, hybrid sampled / live drum parts, pitch shifted percussion, sax, banjo, and organ.
From the ghostly quasi-title track “Remember The Moon Jr.” to laid-back “The Pointe Of It All”, these richly textured pieces are ably brought to life onstage by Sammie Smith (aka Samantha Savage Smith), Henry Hsieh (Cold Water, Crack Cloud), and Darrell Hartsook (Prenup, Sissys) who all make their Lab Coast recording debut on the live off the floor capture of “Run Out” – a track that also gets a guest engineering assist from former member Scott Munro.
Their homebrewed recordings sit in the tradition of DIY recorders such as Strapping Fieldhands, early Guided By Voices, and R. Stevie Moore, while the songs themselves recall the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Tom Petty, and The La's.
