Clinton St. John

A musician and artist living in Calgary, Clinton St. John has just released "Storied Hearts And The Three Assimilations," his sixth album over the past decade. Previously performing with Flemish Eye Records' The Cape May and Pale Air Singers, the label's "poet laureate" has recorded with Steve Albini and toured across Europe and the USA as a member of Nina Nastasia's band. On "Storied Hearts," his second solo album under his own name, he has collected songs captured in his attic over the course of a year with a few friends, including Eric Hamelin (No More Shapes, Chad VanGaalen), Foon Yap (Woodpigeon, Foon Yap & The Roar).

Beginning as a single song, St. John paired illustrations with each line from that song and then decided to come full circle and write a song for each illustration. The resulting album has been laid out in a book with the accompanying music and is undoubtedly St.Johns most ambitious work to date
